Dear Jenn and family,

It’s been just over a month that I have been living in my forever home and I just wanted to let you know that I’m lovin’ it!  I go on two walks every day.  I especially like Saturday and Sunday because we get to go to a wooded area and I can sniff around all I want.  Most weekdays, I play in the back yard after school with Kyle too.

For the next four weeks I have my very own trainer who comes on Sunday mornings.   I know I am a great student because he always comments on how smart I am.  I work on my sit, down, stay, wait, and heel, all of which I already know.  I am also working on ‘leave it’.  I overheard them say I tend to take food off counter or table when it isn’t mine --  of course I don’t know what they could be talking about!!!  Soon we are going to go walking and socializing with others.  I’m looking forward to it.  One exercise I’m working on is where Kyle holds a treat out for me but I don’t take it until he tells me it’s ok.  This lesson is a rather difficult - only because I love the taste of those treats. 

I love riding in the car too.  We have a small station wagon and I get to sit in the very back.  I love rides.  The best ride is when we ride to a place like the bike path because then we walk too!

I had my visit with the vet.  They said my weight is good and my ears are clean and they gave me a manicure.  I had to get another rabies shot because now that I live in Rhode Island, I need one every two years instead of three.  They read my medical records and saw that I once had an ulcer so they took a blood test to make sure my insides are working well too.  Everything checked out great.   All the girls from the vet lab had to come to the exam room to see me because everyone was talking about what a nice, well behaved dog I am.  After I got my shots, I got a shiny new Coventry town dog tag!

All the people in the family love me.  Debbie is my caretaker and best friend.  She walks me every day.  We practice our lessons and she lets me poke around the bushes and trees.  We are inseparable when she is home (too bad she has to go to that place called ‘work’).  I like hanging around with Chuck too.  He sometimes builds a fire in the fireplace and we just kick back and watch some football and nap.  Kyle is my next best friend.  He plays with me a lot.  When he plays video games or his guitar in the basement rec room, I lay down next to him.  (Don’t tell anyone, but once he let me sneak up on the couch with him.)  Bethany hugs me a lot and tells me I’m the cutest dog ever.   She’s really nice and her friends like me too.  I liked to be hugged.  They always say “awww, Moose is so cute” when they see me.  Once I got into the garbage in her room (I was just trying to help, she accidentally dropped an Oreo cookie in there.) but she didn’t get mad.  Ryan has a lot of friends and they let me hang out with them when they are playing video games. 

I’m sending some pictures of me too.  Miss you -- but glad I’m am where I am.
